The very first VibramŪ Tester was nobody
else than Vitale Bramani, Italian mountaineer and inventor
of first VibramŪ sole in 1936-37.
Nowadays at VibramŪ, we collaborate with
elite level athletes in many disciplines to give us
a complete understanding of the performance needs of
VibramŪ soles.
VibramŪTester Team is the
right partner to design the ideal sole for any given
activity, by providing information about activities,
feedback during and after product testing.
Testers' comments are directly incorporated into the
design of the product. With their help, each sole expresses
an understanding of the following:
- the walking surface that will be encountered
- wet, dry, rock, soil, sand, snow, ice, etc.
- the needs for the specific activity
- grip, thrust, braking, stability, durability, sensitivity
to the ground, comfort, shock absorption, rigidity,
etc.
 With
the end-use concept in hand, VibramŪ chemists and designers
choose the ideal rubber compound, designs the sole,
and builds prototypes for testing. After approval from
Tester Team, the VibramŪ outsole is ready for production.
Vibram Tester Team is made of 30 people competent in
a wide range of outdoor activities : mountaineering,
hiking, freeclimbing, snowshoeing, ski mountaineering,
telemark, trailrunning, mountainbike, motocross, sailing,
golf, fishing, hunting, canoeing, etc.
